How are Appointments Scheduled?
Our office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience. We recommend that Preschool children be seen in the morning because they are more awake, and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. School children with a lot of homework should be seen in the morning for the same reason. Dental appointments are an excused absence, and missing school can be minimal when regular dental care is scheduled.
Since appointed times are reserved for each patient, we ask that you please notify our office at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you must cancel. Another patient could be scheduled if we have sufficient time to notify them. We realize that unexpected things happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.
Do I stay with my child during the visit?
We Invite You to Join Us for Their Examination
We invite you to accompany your child to every examination. You are more than welcome to accompany your child to the treatment room. For the safety and privacy of all patients, other children who are not being treated should remain in the reception area with a supervising adult.
What about Finances?
Payment for dental services is due at the time that treatment is provided. Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan that gives your child the best possible care, and fits into your timetable and budget. We accept cash, personal checks, debit cards, most major credit cards, Care Credit and Orthobanc. We accept Medicaid patients.
Regarding Dental Insurance
Please provide your current insurance information at the time of making your appointment so we may have adequate time to get your insurance benefits in our system ahead of time for filing claims and providing treatment estimates for you on the day of your appointment. It is important for us to have accurate insurance information from you regarding your plan as it directly affects the costs and co-pays given to you on treatment estimates. We try to provide the most accurate information for you on treatment estimates so please understand it is very important to keep us informed of any changes in employment, insurance, policy holders, or group numbers, as this directly affects costs and co-pays to you.
By law, your insurance company is required to pay each claim within 30 days of receipt. We file claims for you as a courtesy to our patients. You are responsible for any balance on your account after 30 days. If you have not paid your balance within 60 days, a re-billing fee of 1.5% will be added to your account each month until the outstanding balance is paid. We are not responsible for how your insurance company handles its claims, or for what benefits they pay on a claim. We can only assist you in estimating your portion of the cost of treatment. We do not guarantee what your insurance will or will not do with each claim. Once again, we file claims as a courtesy to you.
We are in network with most dental insurance companies including Medicaid and CHP. If you are not sure whether we are in network for your insurance plan, please feel free to contact us and one of our staff will help you determine before your appointment if we are in network for your insurance plan.
